Ephesians 6 - The Armour of God

Ephesians 6 - The Armour of God

"10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." (Ephesians 6)

How cool is that?! I love Paul's detail in this passage because he doesn't leave anything out. He's not afraid to declare that in Christ we have protection against anything that may come our way.

Imagine, if we lived like this? A fearless generation.

Take your stand.
Stand your ground.
Stand firm.

A few questions for you to think about, maybe as a group or by yourself:

1. What does the devil scheme against you?

What's your biggest weakness? When we speak out the lies of the devil against us, we are releasing them in a declaration that they have no power on us.

2. Do you trust that the armour of God is enough to carry you?

Pray that you would rest completely on His love.

3. Belt of truth:

What does Paul mean by truth? How do you wear it?

4. Breast of righteousness:

What does Paul mean by righteousness? How do you wear it?

5. Feet fitted with the gospel of peace:

What does Paul mean by gospel of 'peace'? How do you wear it?

6. Shield of faith:

What does Paul mean by faith? How do you wear it?

7. Helmet of salvation:

What does Paul mean by salvation? How do you wear it?

8. Sword of the Spirit:

What does Paul mean by the Spirit? How do you wear it?
